Today’s Challenges Are Real – But So Are the Solutions

In today’s society, the data is constantly changing. Children, adolescents and adults face many challenges every day that can affect their mental and emotional well-being. Everyone can identify that sudden changes and difficulties cause anxiety and stress.

What Children and Teens May Experience

Through my experience, I have identified that the main challenges children have to face are:

Academically

Their performance and especially their motivation decrease.

Behaviorally

Denial, anger and aggression become part of their lives.

Emotionally

Family-wise

They may experience a divorce from their parents or be present in conflicts.

Loss and Grief

Benefits of Counselling

Counselling can provide numerous benefits for children and teenagers facing these challenges. Some of the benefits of therapy include:

‘‘You may give them your love but not your thoughts,

For they have their own thoughts.

You may house their bodies but not their souls,

For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow, which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams.

You may strive to be like them, but seek not to make them like you.

For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday.’’
